Spray Tans and Casual Wear

Last night, Alex and I went to support our good friend Nick in his first bodybuilding competition, the Heart of Dixie. I had a new outfit to wear, but the weather has been awful all week, so I changed my mind at the last minute.

Since it's been really rainy and still really hot, I went with something super casual and comfy. My top is just a simple chambray button down from Charlotte Russe that I wore over a black tank with the sleeve rolled up and the top buttons undone. My pants are high-waisted black jeggings from American Eagle, and I decided on Chacos for shoes. I accessorized with a bohemian mala from Mala Collective, a black Fitbit Flex, and a turquoise wrap bracelet from Lucky Brand. I also wore my Ray Ban Aviators in gold.

The body building competition was so much fun! It was our first time ever attending one, and Nick's first time competing. It is just so amazing to see the dedication and hard work that people put in for something like that. It really is a lot of sacrifice, and it is truly inspiring. He placed second in the home town division, and we couldn't be more proud of him. If you don't know what goes into prepping for a show, it is not for the weak. You have to be at your absolute leanest with no excess body fat or water weight, and not to mention the addition of muscle mass (don't forget the Jersey Shore spray tans). That, my firends, is no small task. All in all, it was a fun night. We enjoyed ourselves, and we look forward to many more competitions.
